When Dogs make their own FOOD

This chick-friend of mine once told me that her Dog has to have a special (not gifted) Diet because his stomach was so "sensitive."
I could not stop laughing....my answer to this was:

"Sensitive stomach??? DOGS WILL EAT THEIR OWN PUKE! For God sakes!"

Analysis:

The reason dogs eat their own puke is because they have very short memories
For example:  If you leave on a two-week vacation OR go outside and get the mail.....all dogs will be JUST as happy and excited to see you when you return (with the same amount of ecstatic energy) on both/either adventure.  They have no sense of time.  None.

Thus said...when a dog pukes on the carpet, (re-making his "own food" so-to-speak) ... turns around in a circle, like dogs do...and then they luckily spot a huge, wow-factor, warm, steaming pile of PUKE....The dog thinks:

"Wow!  Who left this warm, yummy, scrumptious, unattended food on the floor !?? I will eat it!  It's mine, alllll mine!  It's my lucky day! Yum!"

TIP:   You know, if you leave the room and don't watch the dog while he eats his own puke, then you do not have to clean it up later!  That's certainly a PLUS!

  1. Not true El...when my dogs puke the look VERy guilty like I am going to get mad at them and then they stay as far away from it as possible. This is true of their own puke pile or the brothers puke pile.

Maybe I just have well behaved dogs right?

  5. This theory is partly true. Dogs don't have short memories, they only live for the moment! Each moment is truly exciting and new for them! Hence, why every time you walk in the door, he thinks you're someone new and exciting! Even if you only went to the mail box!

  6. "Moment of excitment"...hence, the puke factor.

and btw when Turtles barf, it just looks like another turtle, so no one notices the extra tiny turtle in the room.

  7. As tears of laughter block my vision, I just have to say, that MOST dogs do indeed eat their regurgitated stomach contents. But, in their defense, cow do this all the time. They purposely upchuck the grass just eaten so they can chew it all over again. Thus, making sure its well chewed. Maybe when God made the dog he did not want us to eat them, so made sure they were gross enough to not want too. Where as the cow, eats only grass, grains, so is more "appealing" to our fancy. LOL! Dogs eat just about anything yucky thing there is. Just in case the pack leader has or will forget to feed them you know.

  9. reminds me of the time I didn't get my door shut and my two goats had a great ole time all over the house, flowers and vase were dessert, flour, cereal and anything that was on a lower shelf was all over the house and we won't speak of how long it took me to steam clean the piddle spots...at least the poo pellets are hard and easy to clean up!!
